Are you Jewish, either born to a Jewish mother, or a convert to Judaism through a recognized conversion?

Under the Law of Return, being Jewish means either being born to a Jewish mother (Halakhic definition) OR having converted to Judaism through a recognized conversion. Recognized conversions include: Orthodox conversions anywhere in the world; Reform or Conservative conversions performed outside Israel; and Reform or Conservative conversions performed inside Israel (recognized by the Israeli Supreme Court since December 2023). A proposed bill to restrict recognition to Orthodox-only conversions is not law as of June 2026. If you are Jewish through your mother, regardless of how she became Jewish, you qualify under this first question.
